Our predicted 2021 interior trends to embrace

It’s been a long year, so we have a good reason to rejoice when thinking about the interior design trends coming up in 2021.  Interior design trends don’t evolve in a bubble.  They are a direct response to world events and 2020 – as they say – was unprecedented.

So what’s on the horizon? At Romeo Whiskey Designs, here’s our take on the trends coming through:

Natural Luxe: Think of natural textures where we can embrace the imperfections of authentic natural textures like wool, linen, wood and stone – a counterpart to the screens we spend a lot of hours looking at.

Cheerful Colours: During 2020 at the height of the Australian pandemic and even today we are still a little uncertain about the world.  More than ever, we need to feel optimistic, so we turn to yellow.  Yellow is a friendly colour; it’s happy and simplistic. This could be captured in a beautiful set of artwork, some brushed brass hardware fixtures or even a front door. There are plenty of yellow tones to consider: from ochres and mustard, to blonde and warm beige to bold yellow – used in the right way, it will bring plenty of optimism to your space.

Everyday luxuries: We are spending more time then ever at home and need our homes to make us feel good.  These items may be a luxury scented candle, new bed linen, beautiful cushions or some indoor plants in gorgeous pots. These small things for the home give us an uplift and brighten up our space and are an inexpensive way to bring about some cheerful changes at home.

At the end of the day – your space is yours and should be designed with the experiences you seek. Trends come and go – but they can always serve up some brilliant design inspiration! If you are keen to get started sometime during 2021, drop us an email and let us know how we could help you.
